MetaID protocol demonstrates natural cross-chain characteristics on this basis: Data distributed across multiple Bitcoin sidechains or L2s is aggregated into a unified account via the MetaID tree (tree-structured format). Under private key control, data is chain-agnostic and interoperable in real-time—for example, a post I made on a MetaID-based on-chain Twitter (stored on MVC chain) can have like behavior (recorded on Bitcoin mainnet) synchronized in seconds, with a very smooth experience. Issuers can use ID-Coin to set social content prices or tipping mechanisms, empowering the token value through content creation and interactions—similar to Vitalik Buterin's Soulbound Token concept, but more dynamic, incorporating social behavior for value addition. Official examples show this gives asset issuance a \"human\" anchor: not pure speculation, but a tool for users to accumulate influence on-chain. Of course, this new paradigm needs to observe landing effects, but with the ecosystem just closing the loop and relatively few aware of it, it may be worth developer attention as an attempt to shift from finance to utility.\n\n## Is Building Web3 on Bitcoin a Good Idea?\n\nAfter examining MetaID's technology and ecosystem, it is worth discussing whether choosing Bitcoin as the foundation for Web3 is reasonable. As an observer, I aim to analyze its prospects and challenges based on experience and initial testing.\n\nStarting with practical applications, I tried out Show.now—a social platform within the ecosystem. The process was straightforward: I created a MetaID account through a wallet, inscribe a test post (stored on the Bitcoin main chain), and incurred a cost of about $2 (on the sidechain, approximately 100 posts would cost $0.01). Data was quickly uploaded and synced, the interface was smooth, and it supported liking, sharing, and real-time interactions. Once on-chain, the data cannot be deleted or tampered with, and it can be accessed across devices under private key control. Over the past few years, the blockchain ecosystem has largely been filled with memes and DeFi, with users caught in PvP zero-sum games that are difficult to sustain in the long run.
